Not inspired!
Not inspired at all. So not inspired that I’ve cut some of my online social activities by its roots.
Disappointed with life, work and family… so this resumes my entire world. I now regret the day I opted for driving half-an-hour to work… but regrets don’t pay the rent or the bread. So I need to feel something and right now I don’t like what I feel… I’m...

IRS time
Counting cents for the IRS tax forms. In this period all of my family, my wife’s family, friends and not so friends remember me and kindly ask me to fill up their tax forms (IRS). After a long day at the office battling with several issues at the same time I arrive home where I find my kitchen still in a deep state of war. I had to renew it since the other one felt apart in very small pieces...

Well this really shows that I'm not a blogger
2 weeks! 2 weeks since my last…. hmmm… well… post! Now I’m sure I’m not a blogger. I’ve been a busy ant trying to get the enterprise account to a correct value … too many figures to be fixed :S
Meanwhile, last Saturday, I was representing the winery at a wine tasting dinner in an awesome place called Amieira Marina Restaurant, near the Alqueva dam. We had...

Accounting should be a decision tool....
but NO! The accounting departments are usually the last ones to receive the information. Instead of being consulted before a business or investment takes place its the opposite. When everything is OK it’s useful to know how much tax you are going to pay but when something goes wrong its always its fault. I’ve been living with this job for the last 22 long years and until now...

Looking back...
A person I know just died! He was 44 years old, just like me. He had a good life, his father was wealthy, he studied and had a good job, wife and kids. But now he is dead, that made me wonder about my life.
I was born in a humble family and to help out I started to work when I was barely seventeen. At 1st in Algarve, later on in Germany, then an intermission for a 14 months mandatory army...

Xmas and New Year gone!
The big cold I had all week ended up being a terrible flue that sent me to bed on the Xmas night and the next following days. The days dragged slowly away while the cough, sneezing and fever made me company. And yes I bought a mask to avoid contaminating everyone at home. Since 2004 that my New Years festivities have somehow gone wrong. My son was born in August 2003 but my father died on the...

With a damn big cold
I’ve been so quiet for a very good reason… a damn big cold is mining my life for the last couple of days. Yesterday was almost unbearable I went to bed at half-past-height and didn’t even feel the 6.5 (Richter Scale) earthquake that shook Portugal from top to bottom.
Today the day was a long torment but I kept going. I can’t afford to skip a day at work. Too much to do in...

The weekend is over and so is Monday
Well another one bites the dust. Saturday was almost only dedicated to cleaning and shopping. Sunday I indulged my self one more hour sleep, just after waking up and having a shower I realized that I had a Xmas lunch at work… hmmm good food and even better wines but return to the work place during the weekend doesn’t really please me. This morning I had the feeling that I didn’t...

The weekend...
The day is almost ending and when I look back I see I spent it: shopping in the local fish market, cooking, cleaning and some more shopping, this time with my son so a small toy was also in order… some more cleaning, and it all is far from being over. The house chores and shopping take up of 45% of my weekend, 25% is used on my son, 25% is used sleeping/resting and 5% is used to eat and...

2nd post on this blog
Another long day its coming to an end… too tired to do anything else. A good neck massage would help me a lot…
But I ended the day writing this post while the TV babels about corruption, @garyvee’s Crush it! lays on the sofa untouched today. But a while ago I was reading Dom José the Reformer to my son before bed. Now he is resting with a little more knowledge in his head…...

A long long day
I use to say that I’m 200 kms away from everything in this country! Usually that means a 2 hours drive to where it matters, and so it was yesterday. I drove 200 kms to take part of an event in Teatro Aberto (rough translation: Open Theater) in Lisbon, where I joined my friends from the Adegga that putted up an event called Adegga Wine Market.
The idea for the event was quite simple: setup a...
