José Régio, pseudónimo de José Maria dos Reis Pereira (Vila do Conde 17.9.1901 - 22.12.1969), licenciou-se em Filologia Românica, em 1925, na Faculdade de Letras de Coimbra, com a tese «As Correntes e as Individualidades na Moderna Poesia Portuguesa». Com Branquinho da Fonseca e João Gaspar Simões fundou, em 1927, a revista Presença, que marcou o segundo modernismo português e de que Régio foi o principal impulsionador e ideólogo. Foi desde esse ano, professor liceal no Porto e a partir de 1929 em Portalegre, local onde reuniu uma valiosa colecção de iconografia religiosa, conservada na sua casa, que foi transformada em museu após a sua morte. Participou activamente na vida pública e apoiou o general Nórton de Matos na sua candidatura à Presidência da República e, mais tarde, a candidatura do general Humberto Delgado. Como escritor, dedicou-se principalmente, ao romance, ao teatro, à poesia e ao ensaio. Na sua obra, são centrais, as problemáticas do conflito entre Deus e o Homem, o indivíduo e a sociedade, numa análise crítica das relações humanas e da solidão. A sua poesia, de grande tensão lírica e dramática, apresenta-se frequentemente como uma espécie de diálogo entre níveis diferentes da consciência.

Not inspired at all. So not inspired that I’ve cut some of my online social activities by its roots.
Disappointed with life, work and family… so this resumes my entire world. I now regret the day I opted for driving half-an-hour to work… but regrets don’t pay the rent or the bread. So I need to feel something and right now I don’t like what I feel… I’m tired of the daily struggle, no reward for perseverance, just sadness, sickness and a daily life that deteriorates with the passing days… good bye happiness!

Counting cents for the IRS
tax forms. In this period all of my family, my wife’s family, friends and not so friends remember me and kindly ask me to fill up their tax forms (IRS). After a long day at the office battling with several issues at the same time I arrive home where I find my kitchen still in a deep state of war. I had to renew it since the other one felt apart in very small pieces … rotten ones I might add. So in the last two weeks I had to endure a carpenter in my house and things didn’t start very well since he miss calculated the size of the walls…. Resuming, a never ending story. Not to mention the harm it will do to my financial status (they really get them selves very well paid).
So, here I am counting cents…

2 weeks! 2 weeks since my last…. hmmm… well… post! Now I’m sure I’m not a blogger. I’ve been a busy ant trying to get the enterprise account to a correct value … too many figures to be fixed :S
Meanwhile, last Saturday, I was representing the winery at a wine tasting dinner in an awesome place called Amieira Marina Restaurant, near the Alqueva dam
. We had full house, around 70 pax, and had to refuse another dozen that didn’t make reservation. To be honest I frozen when they handed me a micro :( but all-in-all it was a good event and everyone loved the wine and the food. Me? I loved the place. I’ve to go back there but I believe I don’t have a family to enjoy the place with me. Believe it or not I stopped the car over 10 times on my way there just to see the trees, the grass, the running brooks and to take a couple of pictures to my Flickr account about the Alentejo region. Don’t be shy and pay me a visit!
