Day by day
A long long day

I use to say that I’m 200 kms away from everything in this country! Usually that means a 2 hours drive to where it matters, and so it was yesterday. I drove 200 kms to take part of an event in Teatro Aberto (rough translation: Open Theater) in Lisbon, where I joined my friends from the Adegga that putted up an event called Adegga Wine Market.

The idea for the event was quite simple: setup a cozy space, gather some wine producers (more less 15) with some really good wines and engage a conversation between the visitors and the producers while tasting the wines.

The event started around 14:00, slowly at the beginning but at cruise speed at 16:30 - 17:00. It ended around 21:00, seven hours in a row, standing, pouring wine and talking about it with some really interested people. It was worth the effort!

But now I was facing yet another 2 hours drive back home, back to my family that was waiting for me. Finally when I arrived (23:45) my son was already fast asleep and my wife was still waiting for me while watching “America’s next Top Model” by Tyra Banks. Busted as I was, we engaged a short conversation about the day, the weather and the trip and of course about our son and so we wrapped up the day.

This morning I took the not so easy task to take my son out of the bed and was rewarded with a smile and a kiss. It was an excellent start for yet another busy day!
