The big cold I had all week ended up being a terrible flue that sent me to bed on the Xmas night and the next following days. The days dragged slowly away while the cough, sneezing and fever made me company. And yes I bought a mask to avoid contaminating everyone at home. Since 2004 that my New Years festivities have somehow gone wrong. My son was born in August 2003 but my father died on the 30th of December 2003. So my 1st action in 2004 was to bury my father… The next year my round fishbowl broke into pieces and cut my left hand right to the bone… New Years Eve spend at the Beja’s ER. And the next years the scene was similar. Luckily for me I was on holidays, since the company where I work sets a big part of my vacation. 2 weeks in August (the overcrowded and most expensive month to have vacations in Portugal) and the last week of the year or at least from the 24th to the next workday in the following year, this year was the 4th. That leaves me about 1 week to choose when I need some time off that depends on my wife work and on my son’s school… though call.
So the new year is already running, the new prices are banging on our doors, fuel raising already 3 times in 12 days, electricity went up 2,9%, interest mortgages raising back up and with this three raising I guess everything will raise… except you know what ;) but chin up a smile on the face and lets go on working to afford another week vacation in a 3 star hotel with a swimming pool for the kid to have a good time. Sometimes it’s the feeling I have inside of me… I’m working for a week of rest…. better stop since I’m feeling rather uncomfortable right now!
Happy New Year!
